To stop the rush closure of the lido, we need Stroud District Council to get proper information on all the options, and hold a transparent debate.

Your voice is critical to making that happen. Here’s what to do.

Write to your councillor

Even if you’ve already written to councillors, it’s worth writing to them again.

Councillors have the final vote whether to back the plan to re-open the lido, or whether to close it – so write to them and let them know what you would like them to do.

You can say whatever you like, but we suggest saying:

  1. Please back the plan to re-open the lido – and please do what they can to get it open as soon as possible, SOLS has suggested ways that it could be open before August, which should be considered.
  2. What closing the lido this summer would mean to you – write as much or little as you like
  3. Please also keep it open longer – for example in the mornings, and in September.
  4. Please work with the community to plan for the years ahead – we need them to share information with us freely so we can work together to protect it, gradually upgrade it, and help it thrive.

You can write to your councillor via WriteToThem, or to make it even easier, we’ve made a form! Just enter your postcode below to see who your councillor is, and get a personalised link to email them.
