The lido has reopened, thanks to YOUR support. But to keep the lido thriving, we need Stroud District Council to work with the community, openly and transparently.

Your voice is critical to making that happen. Here’s what to do.

Write to your councillor

Even if you’ve already written to councillors, it’s worth writing to them again.

You can say whatever you like, but we suggest saying:

1. Thanks for keeping the lido open! Councillors don’t get thanked much, so it’s worth letting them know what this means to you!
2. Please consult the community on what comes next. We want SDC to do a full public consultation (not just talk to a few handpicked ‘stakeholders’ – even us!) to understand what residents’ priorities are for the Lido in the future, so we can work together to protect the lido, gradually upgrade it, and help it thrive.
3. Please don’t rush into any decisions. Working together, we’ve stablised the Lido for the time being, so there is no tearing hurry; no potential operator has come forward with any credible expression of interest yet, and nor could they, with the current level of management and information available. We’d like the council to run a full season in 2027, working with volunteers on events, to allow us all to gather more reliable financial, usage and structural information before making any drastic decisions.
